Aiming to provide a pathway to MotoGP for promising domestic riders, the British Talent Cup kicks off with a 23 rider line-up later this month at Donington alongside British Superbikes over the Easter weekend.
Several big names are throwing their collective weight behind the series, including official Moto2 and Moto3 tyre supplier Dunlop.
This isn’t the first gateway to MotoGP that Dunlop has decided to get involved with, after recently being nominated as supplier to the ADAC Series in Northern Europe in early 2018.
The 23 riders from across the UK and Ireland have just finished testing in Valencia, all showcasing their talent on Honda NSF250R Moto3™ machinery.
Combined times across the two day test saw Rory Skinneer top the time sheets, followed by fierce rival Brian Hart who was just two-tenths of a second behind him.
“There are riders with some potential,” says British Talent Cup Riders’ Coach Dani Ribalta. “Let’s see if during the season we can help the other group of riders to grow race by race. In the first test they have made some mistakes that make it hard to be fast, but if they change these things from the beginning they’ll make big steps. Ahead of the first race, they should go training, training, training – and get ready for the first round.”
If you’re planning on being at Donington over the Easter weekend, don’t miss what promises to be an exciting inaugural race!
