It might have been replaced at the top of the Pirelli hypersport range, but the Diablo Rosso II still offers excellent performance and value for money for sportsbike riders.
Following a recent test on a classic Honda sportsbike, the team at Practical Sportsbike magazine have been giving their opinions of the 2nd line Pirelli rubber in their August issue.
They say:
“Looking for high performance tyres for sporty road riding? Pirelli have just the thing with its Diablo Rosso III.
They’re dual-compound so the centre won’t square off in less than a month, yet the slick edges are sticky enough to worry footpegs and low-slung bellypans alike.
We sampled a set this month on an NSR250 MC28, and were very impressed. They grip like leeches, and the feedback and stability under braking is superb. In fact, they’re so sure-footed we’d happily use them on track, too. But perhaps the best thing about the Rosso II is the wide range of fitments.”
A popular OE fitment choice with the likes of fellow Italian brands Ducati and MV Agusta, the Rosso II’s are still as popular as ever.
