It was a case of complete domination for Michelin in the 7th and 8th round of the British Trials Championship at Totherick Quarry in Scotland.
Using the excellent Trials X-Light Comp tyres, Michelin riders occupied the top two places at the end of day one, and the top five places by the end of day two. The demanding course was organised by the Edinburgh and District MCC, and the twelve demanding hazards had to be completed three times each day.
Early on during the event, Vertigo rider James Dabill took the overall British Trials Championship for 2015 after finishing the day in 2nd place, behind Jorge Casales on the Beta machine. With two rounds still to go, he can now enjoy his riding without any additional stress, although knowing how determined he is to win, his eyes will still be on taking a podium finish at the remaining events.
The second day saw Dabill celebrate like a true champion, finishing ahead of Casales to take the 8th round win.
Following his victory on day one, Casales commented:
“The conditions were very difficult due to the nature of the terrain, which included large rocks and slippery hillsides. The ever changing weather conditions included both heavy rain and sunshine, this inevitably pushed the Michelin X-Light tyres to the limit of their performance, but they gave me the confidence in my riding to take me to another victory.”
