It may only have been launched at the end of last year, but Continental’s new ContiTrailAttack 3 has already taken victory in the motorcycle industry’s most respected independent tyre test!
Six manufacturers submitted their latest adventure touring tyres to be tested by the experienced independent team at Motorrad, who were all riding on identical BMW R1250GS motorcycles using tyre sizes 120/70 R19 and 170/60 R17.
In total, the ContiTrailAttack 3 scored a total of 320 points from a potential 350, finishing ahead of Michelin’s Anakee Adventure, the Metzeler Tourance Next, Dunlop TrailSmart Max, Bridgestone Battlax A41 and Pirelli Scorpion Trail II.
On dry country roads, the Motorrad team praised the precise feedback and fast warm up times, stating that “B-roads handling belongs to Continental!”
The new ContiTrailAttack 3 now uses the same RainGrip compound found in the ContiRoadAttack 3, and this takes wet weather performance to altogether new levels. Testers noted that it was a big improvement over our previous generation tyre, offering excellent grip and predictable feedback when riding at the limit.
Continental’s dedicated engineers have also gone to great lengths to improve the durability, claiming class leading rates of wear in their own internal testing. They will no doubt be pleased to see the ContiTrailAttack 3 also topped the tables when it came to tyre wear after 3,500km of riding!
Summing up, the magazine said that “curve junkies are clearly on the TrailAttack 3, which has experienced a noticeable development spurt, not only from it’s predecessor, but also the competition in everyday usage and wear.”
Right now, our trade customers can also claim a FREE tank bag or dry bag when they buy a pair of ContiTrailAttack 3 tyres.
