In their June 25th 2014 edition, Motorcycle News Web Producer Liam Marsden decided to switch to a set of ContiTrailAttack 2 adventure sport tyres on his Suzuki V-Strom 1000 after covering 6500 miles on his previous set of tyres.
As Liam alluded to, new tyres can transform a bike and he described the jump from his previous rubber to the latest from Continental as “staggering” saying that “almost immediately I was throwing the V-Strom through familiar bends with much more enthusiasm than previous rides, and getting on the power harder and earlier”.
The ContiTrailAttack 2 features the German manufacturer’s unique Traction Skin technology which practically makes scrubbing in new tyres a thing of the past thanks to a micro rough tread surface straight from the mould which gives instant grip from the moment the tyre is fitted, also increasing rider safety.
The real test will be seeing just how much mileage they can deliver on his upright A1 commute, but Liam admits that on the performance so far that Continental has already moved up his “psychologically good tyres list”. Confidence in a product makes for a much more enjoyable ride, and we can’t wait to see how they continue to perform in the near future!
Elsewhere the ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO, which includes sizes for big adventure bikes has been getting some great reviews by influential member Dirk Lamar of the BMW GS forum who commented:
“Last weekend I personally traveled about 350 km – 100 km on the Autobahn and 250 km on the Eifel highway – in dry weather, and I’m even more excited about the tires. The GS really does handle superbly”.
