The KTM RC390 has been likened to the modern day RD250 LC, a punchy and fun small capacity bike which you can get your hands on with an A2 licence.
To make the most of the small capacity Austrian bike, many riders fit the very latest in hypersport rubber, with manufacturers now extending their range of sizes to include the likes of the KTM as the market expands.
Motorcycle News’ Emma Franklin has been testing the RC390 this year, and has now put around 3,000 miles on a set of Metzeler’s latest hypersport rubber, the Sportec M7 RR.
In their 4th November 2015 edition, Emma reviews the tyres saying:
“If you look very closely you may just detect an ever-so-slight squaring off of my KTM’s rear Metzeler M7 RR, but only just. 3000 miles of traipsing into work, touring and track sessions have done little to torture the tread of these excellent all-rounders; a wonderful side effect of the KTM being both lightweight and low powered. The M7 RR’s also play a major part in the RC390’s competence in autumn conditions – they’re extremely confidence inspiring.”
