Developed with the help of British Superbike star Chris “Stalker” Walker, the new Maxxis Supermaxx ST radial promises to deliver high levels of both comfort and performance.
To ensure consistently high standards of performance in all areas, the new Sport Touring option from Maxxis uses their nano-dispersement silicon dioxide (SiO2) technology. The V-shaped tread design offers increased traction, and provides more consistent handling characteristics throughout the life of the tyre. It also features 3D sipe technology for improved tread stiffness, and a mono-spiral steel belt provides greater sidewall rigidity, enhancing wet grip and reportedly eliminating uneven wear.
In comparison with the existing Supermaxx, the new ST gives an additional 15% extra front-end turn in grip, and 17% extra mid corner rear-end grip. Rear tyre cornering traction also claims to be increased by 18%.
Maxxis say that with the help they have received from Chris, this is the best sport touring tyre they have developed to date.
