With this year’s AMCA championship cut short due to the on-going Covid-19 pandemic riders had just four rounds to make their mark, with Bridgestone backed Luke Burton and Jamie Wainwright doing just that as they sealed their respected MX1 and MX2 titles!
Geartec Racing’s Luke Burton worked hard to grab the series lead from IDS Yamaha’s Josh Waterman in the second round of the season at Long Lane. From then on, despite Josh’s best efforts, nobody could catch Luke at the top of the championship as he consolidated his lead at Warmingham, and then back at Long Lane for round 4.
With Josh holding off a strong challenge from Ashley Greedy to keep hold of second, that gave Bridgestone an impressive 1 – 2 in the highly competitive MX1 class come the final round.
Meanwhile, in the MX2 class our Bridgestone motocross support programme rider Jamie Wainwright laid down a marker for his rivals in the opening round and never looked like being caught after that.
Now riding solo, Jamie successfully defended the MX2 title that he’d won on as part of the Apex KTM outfit in 2019 to make it back-to-back championships on Bridgestone Battlecross.
Luke, Jamie and Josh have all been riding on the acclaimed Bridgestone Battlecross range this season, which is exclusively distributed to the trade in the UK by Cambrian Tyres.

- Battlecross X10 – Sand & Mud
- Battlecross X20 – Soft to Intermediate
- Battlecross X30 – Intermediate
- Battlecross X40 – Intermediate to Hard
