
Bridgestone have announced that they will once again be acting as title sponsor to the World Solar Challenge which takes place in Australia from 18th – 25th October this year.
This is the 13th World Solar Challenge, which started back in 1987, and the last competition in 2013 saw 38 teams from 22 countries take part. Competitors competed in a 3,000 kilometre cross-country race using only solar energy to power their vehicles.
This year will see three classes:
- Adventure Class
- Cruiser Class
- Challenger Class
Bridgestone will be using the competition as a platform to promote it’s “Ecopia” tyres, and although the competition is only open to vehicles of the four-wheeled variety, the Bridgestone Ecopia range also extends to two-wheels!

- 160/60 R14 M/C 65H TL – Rear
- 120/70 R15 M/C 56H TL – Front
