It was smiles all round for the Crescent Yamaha motocross squad, and their MX1 title challenger Jake Shipton last weekend, after an impressive double victory in Oxfordshire.
Jake and team were racing at the second round of the Bridgestone British Masters, which was taking place at the scenic Wroxton circuit.
After qualifying in 2nd place on his Bridgestone Battlecross shod YZ450F, Jake found himself in an early battle for the lead with Chambers Racing’s Jake Millward, who has also recently made the switch to the Japanese tyre brand.
Eventually he was able to make a fantastic pass on the Husqvarna rider, and Shipton pulled away to earn himself a comfortable win. A similar story ensued in his second moto, as Jake led by the second corner of the opening lap, and pulled away to take an impressive victory. However, Millward would later take a win of his own, as he bagged the Bridgestone Cup win and a nice cash prize to go with it.
Shipton’s teammate Martin Barr also had a solid weekend in the MX2 Pro class, taking 4th and 3rd to take fifth place overall to remain joint leader. In the amateur class, it was a clean sweep of wins for the impressive Jack Timms, who is part of this year’s Bridgestone support programme.
All of the aforementioned riders were using the popular Bridgestone Battlecross range, which consists of the following tyres:
- Battlecross X10 – Sand & Mud
- Battlecross X20 – Soft to Medium
- Battlecross X30 – Medium
- Battlecross X40 – Medium to Hard
The range is exclusively distributed to the trade by Cambrian Tyres in the UK, and dealers looking for details are welcome to get in touch at any time.
