It’s probably fair to say that Elliott Banks-Browne’s first season with the backing of Bridgestone hasn’t gone quite to plan thus far…
The Geartec Husqvarna rider was caught up in a first corner incident at Sherwood during the opening round of the MX Nationals which put him in hospital.
After three months of rest and recuperation, last weekend EBB was finally back in action at Fatcats which played host to the third round of the Bridgestone British Masters, and it didn’t take him long to lay down a marker for the competition.
Banks-Browne went 1 – 1 in the MX Pro class, where the top four overall spots went to riders using Bridgestone Battlecross rubber, with Chambers Husqvarna’s Jake Millward in second, and Jake Shipton of Crescent Yamaha in third.
In the MX2 class, Parker’s teammate Martin Barr was fastest in qualifying, and he turned that into an impressive win in his opening moto. However, Barr’s second moto didn’t go quite so smoothly as he was taken out at Turn Two. His bike didn’t come off too well as a result, but Martin managed to keep it going to take 8th in the race which secured 3rd overall. Sadly that does mean that the Bridgestone sponsored rider slips to second in the championship, but we don’t doubt that he’ll be back stronger than ever next time out.
