Avon’s Spirit ST was launched earlier this year as a successor to the popular Storm 3D X-M sport touring tyre.
The team at RiDE Magazine have had a pair on their long term Kawasaki test bike, and in their latest issue they had this to say about the tyres:
“I’ve done nearly 5,000 miles on this set of tyres on the Kawasaki Z1000SX and they’ve impressed me.
Grip is good in both wet or dry conditions, they steer much more fluidly than the SX’s OE rubber, they don’t white-line and while they have finally worn the crown off the profile, they’re still a long way from square: that’s great life on a heavy, torquey, fast motorcycle.
True, they haven’t had too much two-up load, but as there’s at least another 1,000 solo miles in them, I’m sure they’d return decent life even if used for a two-up tour.”
The Spirit ST comprises a wide range of sizes, covering a large number of machines.
