Earlier this month, hoards of classic bike fans and a handful of top European endurance race teams descended upon Donington Park for the third ever Endurance Legends event.
Road racing legend Guy Martin and former British & European Flat Track Champion Peter Boast were two of the many riders taking part in the flagship 4 hour race, and the pair eventually came away with a well deserved second place finish.
Boast and Martin were riding a 1981 Suzuki GSX-R1100 XR69, battling it out against around 50 other teams across four different classes. The Suzuki was fitted with a pair of Avon’s 3D Ultra Xtreme rubber, an ultra-high-performance trackday tyre designed to offer high levels of grip and superb dry weather performance.

After seeing the Team York Suzuki bike on the second step of the podium, a delighted team owner Kevin Pearson commented:
“It was a great weekend and congratulations to Endurance Legends for putting on a smooth show. Also, to the marshals and medics.
“For the record, the second Avon tyre fitted during the race had done 115 race laps and to be honest it looked like new, so thank you.”
In typical Guy Martin fashion, the road racer kept is short but sweet, stating:
“Those tyres were mint! All credit to Avon tyres, a superb product.”
