The 3D Ultra Xtreme is the most racy tyre in Avon’s range, and as it crosses over into the hypersport segment, it can also be used for fast road riding.
The tyre uses Avon’s 3D Sipe Technology to limit tread flex and improve stability, whilst also providing fast warm up times. The tyre boasts a super sticky dry-weather compound, and the optimised profile offers a large contact patch at extreme angles of lean for superb cornering performance out on track.

Recently, Avon asked Dean Ellison, former racer turned track day coach and big brother of current British Superbike star James Ellison, to test a pair whilst coaching at the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit on his Kawasaki ZX-10R.
After the day’s riding, Ellison commented:
“Even after a full day of on-track coaching, these tyres had plenty of life left in them. I took part in all 7 fast group sessions, lapping the Brands Hatch Indy circuit at around 52/53 seconds and covered approximately 200 miles.
Clearways corner is notorious for destroying the right hand side of a rear tyre, but the Avon stayed in good shape and provided a consistent level of grip for the duration of the day.
I’d be happy to recommend this tyre for road, track day and race use, I’m very impressed.”
