In this month’s edition of RiDE Magazine, they’ve been taking a closer look at Honda’s Crosstourer – a big, reliable 275kg lump powered by the excellent de-tuned VFR1200 motor.

A very popular fitment on road-going adventure style machines, it has been selected as an original fitment tyre by both BMW and KTM on some of their class leading machines.
Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trail“A popular choice for their quick warm-up and good cold and wet-weather performance.”
The word ‘Trail’ purely denotes that this tyre has been designed in sizes to fit big adventure style machines – so don’t be confused by thinking that this has any kind of off-road abilities.
The Pilot Road 4 family is well-known for it’s outstanding wet weather grip, boosted by the heavily siped tread pattern which uses Michelin’s X-Sipe Technology, combined with their fast warming compound.
Dunlop RoadSmart III“Good mileage (more than 6000 miles from a rear), and good wet-weather confidence. Smooth profile suits the Crosstourer’s steering too.”
Dunlop’s latest sport touring tyre was designed with two goals in mind – boost wet grip and mileage.
Reports from various magazines seem to suggest that they have done this when compared back to back with the old RoadSmart II, and the profile has also been developed to require much less steering input, therefore reducing rider fatigue.
