The iconic Tough One is back for 2016, and will once again be sponsored by Michelin Tyres.
This will be the 12th Tough One enduro in the UK, and will pit riders against the difficult terrain around Nantmawr Quarry in the Welsh Marches.
The challenging course includes a number of man-made obstacles constructed from cars, tyres, logs and rocks, whilst the gnarly terrain of the quarry will also test their skills ti the max.
The 20th February promises explosive racing action with huge rider line-up which includes up and coming intermediates along with the headline pro riders from all over the world. The headline riders include enduro legend David Knight, a rider who has proven himself over the years with six wins at the Tough One.
As of 2017, the venue and the structure of the event will change, so this race will also mark the end of an era for the Tough One.
Steve Ireland, creator of the Tough One commented:
“I am absolutely delighted that once again, Michelin have put their name on the Tough One as an official event partner. To have the support of the such a renowned and respected brand demonstrates the size and stature that the Tough One event has earned over the years.
20th February 2016 will truly be a day in history, as the final running of the event as it is (and has been for the last 12 years) will bow out at that famous quarry. To have David Knight back for this final showdown is fantastic too as he really is the true Tough One and has made the event his own over the last decade, I wonder if he will take his 7th win? One thing is for sure, it will be a great day of extreme enduro racing and challenges.”
James Dimmock, Michelin Marketing Manager said “We’re delighted to be supporting the Tough One again in 2016. We’ve seen an amazing response to our support for the event over the past few years. Enduro riders already know Michelin has an unrivalled range of performance tyres, but meeting the riders and Enduro fans right in the middle of the action at Nantmawr gives us an unparalleled insight into the Enduro scene – something that we’re passionate about supporting.”
With a comprehensive range of Michelin off-road tyres available, Cambrian Tyres are the UK’s largest trade-only Michelin 2 wheel distributor.
