Earlier today, Pirelli announced the development of the new Diablo Rosso III hypersport tyre, which they say will take road tyre performance to a new level.
Born from the racetrack and developed for the road, the new Diablo Rosso III is aimed at the latest generation of powerful sports bikes, offering more grip, improved handling and increased durability.
The ‘flash’ tread pattern has been designed to shift water from around the contact patch for enhanced wet weather performance, whilst also providing a more uniform pattern of wear over the life of the tyre.
A new high silica compound on the front, and the dual-compound rear, uses the latest generation oils, resins and polymers to provide a more consistent level of performance, as well as fast warm up times. The single compound front offers optimal levels of feedback, combined with high stability.
Tyre profiles have also been re-engineered to offer a more neutral handling, whilst facilitating rapid changes in direction. They also provide a larger contact patch at high angles of lean. The casing is very similar to that used in the Diablo Supercorsa, produced with high performance Rayon, which helps the tyre to keep it’s shape under extreme loads.
