France & Dunlop Take Motocross Of Nations Victory

Motocross of Nations Ernée 2015

The 2015 Motocross of Nations eventually came down to just a two horse race, with the USA ahead of France by just two points coming into the final race at Ernée, around 100 kilometres west of the famous Le Mans circuit.

However, in the final race thanks to performances from Romain Febvre, Gautier Paulin and Marvin Musquin France were able to overhaul the deficit to claim victory at the last hour.

A total of 20 Dunlop riders were in action overall, representing 15 of the nations taking part at the annual event. The medium terrain Ernée circuit saw all riders select the Geomax MX-32 tyre front and rear, although some then opted to fit a mousse as opposed to a tube depending on their preference.

Race One claimed victory in the first race, and then came 2nd in Race Two with Cooper Webb just missing out on the win on his Yamaha. It was just the final race which saw them slip behind the home team, as Webb and Martin failed to break into the top five finishers.

Eddy Seel, Dunlop MX Race Coordinator commented:

“I’m really happy that we’re finishing the season with this result. Our riders had an amazing Motocross of Nations. Marvin Musquin did a great job for his first year. Gautier Paulin had a lot of pressure but managed it well and rode for the team result – he took the second choice gate pick to help the overall result and held position rather than riding for individual victory; he stayed strong for France to win.

“It was a good second place for the USA riders who also raced very well. We had four really fast riders of the six in the two top teams. Julien Lieber’s result is also good after finishing sixth in the MX2 world championship.

“The tyres worked well – we had good feedback from the riders. Our goal is to continue this into 2016 and reach our goal of being world champions.”
