The new naked GSX-S1000 from Suzuki has been turning heads this year following it’s official launch on the Isle of Man.
Therefore it’s no real surprise that a number of magazines have got the big new naked out on long term test to see if it lives up to the hype.
That list of publications includes Bike Magazine, or more specifically, Art Director Paul Lang – who has been updating readers on how the bike is doing in their November 2015 edition.
After an 1,800 mile round trip to Germany, Paul finally squared off the OE fitment Dunlop’s, and after a few ‘moments’ in the twisty Harz Mountains which cost him his confidence, he decided to test the latest hypersport tyre from Metzeler, the Sportec M7 RR.
“My head wasn’t right, so something more confidence inspiring was needed” says Paul. “Metzeler’s M7 RRs claim to have sporty handling, grip in all conditions and suffer 20% less wear than the earlier Sportec M5s. First impressions are very good: I feel I can push harder and they turn a little bit quicker. Fine nuances of grip and feel are for racers but as a bloke on the street they inspire confidence and my head’s back in the game. How long will they last? Time will tell.”
As the UK’s largest trade-only distributor of Metzeler tyres, account holders can find the full range of Metzeler M7 RR sizes at Cambrian.
