Ian Hutchinson cemented his return to form yesterday with victory in the second Supersport race of the 2015 TT, with fellow Metzeler rider and firm fan favourite Guy Martin also recording his first podium finish in this years event with a well earned 3rd place.
The Bingley Bullet made an emotional return to the top of the podium in the opening Supersport TT race on Monday, before following it up with victory in the Superstock race on Tuesday, and finally before dominating Wednesday’s Supersport TT race.
The race was held at near record speed, with Hutchinson dominating from the off. At the end of the first lap, he held a 3.882s lead over Bruce Anstey, with James Hillier in 3rd place.
The Yorkshireman continued to pull away in the 2nd lap, with Guy Martin also taking over 3rd place from Hillier shortly before the pit stop. A nice clean pit stop saw Hutchinson get away in order to lead the race from the front, eventually taking the win 14.820 seconds ahead of Anstey, with Guy Martin just behind him. Metzeler riders James Hillier and Gary Johnson took 4th and 5th, meaning that four of the top five riders were running on the new Racetec RR.
