Michelin Sponsored Kullas & Irwin In Action At Weston

MX Nationals Weston Super Mare

It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for the Michelin sponsored Heads & All Threads Suzuki team, with riders Harri Kullas and Graeme Irwin both in action at the MX Nationals & Pro Festival in Weston.

Harri had been looking forward to riding in deep sand, and took 4th place in qualifying. Over the course of the weekend, he took two 2nd placed finishes in both his MX1 motos, moving him to 3rd place in the championship. He now sits just a point behind 2nd place, and now the top spot is within reach with plenty of riding still to be done this year.

Northern Irish team mate Graeme Irwin struggled with bike setup all weekend, but managed to secure a 6th placed finish in his first MX1 moto. He then fell in the 2nd moto, but stormed through the field to get himself up to 6th place, before a damaged radiator ended his race, seeing him drop to 4th in the championship.

Irwin was also taking part in the Pro Nationals Motocross Festival the following day. Having succumbed to food poisoning that night, he battled on the qualify 1st on the Sunday morning. He then fought hard to take a 2nd and 5th place, giving him the 3rd place overall.

Neil Prince, Team Manager for both riders commented:

“A good weekend really. Harri secured second overall and climbed up in the championship. It’s really tight up there now with just a single point separating the top three.
Graeme was riding well, it’s just a shame his crash in the second race damaged the radiator and caused the bike to stop — he was storming through the field.
Considering he came down with food poisoning over night, he did well to ride on Sunday in the Pro Nationals, but to get on the podium after that sort of illness is a great result really.”
