This year, the industry has seen an unprecedented launch of a new breed of high powered sports bikes, which started with the release of Ninja H2-R from Kawasaki.
Yamaha have also been working hard to push the limits with their new YZF-R1 & R1M, both of which were recently tested by Aussie BSB star Josh Brookes.
Just like the groundbreaking Kawasaki, both of the new Yamaha’s will roll out of the factory on high performance Bridgestone rubber, including the new Battlax RS10 Racing Street.
Brookes tested the new, standard R1, fitted with the latest Battlax RS10 Racing Street rubber at the official launch on home soil, at Sydney Motorsport Park. He described the new Bridgestones as “impressive” whilst Visordown, who attended the launch later in the week, went on to say that they “gave heaps of grip, and meant you really had to dial in plenty of throttle to get the rear moving.”
Moving on to the limited edition R1M, which was fitted with the MotoGP dervied Battlax V02 Racing Slick especially for the launch, Brookes stated:
“Once you’re on it, you can’t forget the bald Bridgestones. They offer so much grip that you can’t help but brake harder, lean more and whack the throttle open in true binary style. The growth to a 200-section rear doesn’t affect agility.”
The Battlax V02 Racing Slick is also the choice of Kawasaki on their 300bhp Ninja H2-R, and uses technologies directly derived from Bridgestone’s MotoGP experience, to bring the highest levels of performance to all track day riders and racers.
