MCIA Predict Further Growth For 2015

2015 Motorcycle Sales Predictions

This week, the head of the Motorcycle Industry Association in the UK, Steve Kenward, delivered further positive news for the two wheel market following the recent news that sales in 2014 had surpassed 100,000 units for the first time since 2009.

Based on their data, the MCIA are predicting similar levels of growth for 2015 and expect sales to fall just short of 110,000.

Said Steve Kenward, CEO of the MCIA;

“We estimate around 109,990 units will be sold during 2015, which is a similar growth rate to the one we enjoyed in 2014 – around ten per cent With Motorcycle Live attendance up ten per cent too, and growth every single month during 2014, we feel confident we have turned a corner.

“We see the long term trend for motorcycle use to rise steadily. The latest update to Department for Transport figures shows that the number of motorcycles, scooters and mopeds on the road is at its highest for five year years, with twice as many on the road as there were in 1994, which would indicate motorcycles are becoming increasingly important as a mode of commuter transport.”
