After Steve McKeown became the first rider to win a trophy on Avon Tyres in several years in 2013 in the F1 Era Superbike Championship, the UK based manufacturer are stepping up their race activities for the new season.
In 2014 they will be sponsoring the Avon Tyres Irish Pre-Injection Championship and the first round kicked off at Mondello Park last Saturday with the top two Avon finishers receiving a free Avon 3D Ultra Extreme tyre.
The series will take place over the following dates:
- 29th March – Bishopscourt
- 19th April – Bishopscourt
- 21st April – Kirkistown
- 11th May – Mondello Park
- 24th/25th May – Mondello Park
- 7th June – Kirkistown
- 2nd/3rd August – Mondello Park
- 6th September – Kirkistown
- 20th September – Bishopscourt
- 24th/25th October – Sunflower Trophy – Bishopscourt
