Avon Tyres have announced that they will be introducing a total of 12 new sizes to their Storm 3D X-M range. This hypersport touring tyre currently has just three sizes, and is based on the popular Storm Ultra sport tourer which delivered excellent mileage.
The Storm 3D X-M, which is made in Britain, features interlocking three dimensional points hidden within the tread, which offer riders improved stability, grip and warm-up times. They also work to limit tread flex.
These advances in technology are combined with a single and multi-compound silica rich tread, which enhances the tyre’s grip in the wet.
Avon’s Head of Global Motorcycle Tyre Sales, Doug Ross, said:
“With the Storm 3D X-M we’ve taken what was already a great tyre and built in around 15-20% of extra longevity through increased tread life. While we expect this to be most popular in the US – where motorcycle mileage tends to be higher – there’s an increasing number of bikers in Europe clocking up higher mileages while touring or commuting, who want a tyre that lasts without sacrificing performance.”
