Exciting news for UK adventure bikers – Dunlop are set to be the latest tyre maker to join the increasingly competitive on/off-road market!
We’ve just had word from Dunlop UK that their new Trailmax Mission, which up until now has been exclusive to riders in the USA, will be coming to this country in the next couple of months.
This year, we’ve taken a number of sales calls regarding the Trailmax Mission after the tyre received a lot of online coverage in US motorcycling publications.
Up until now, we’ve had to tell trade customers that this tyre simply isn’t available here, but that is set to change in July according to Sales & Marketing Manager Dave Plummer.
The Trailmax Mission took two years to develop and is billed as a hard wearing, versatile adventure motorcycle tyre for 50% on road and 50% off-road use.
The tyre features include:
- An aggressive tread pattern which delivers traction on hard terrain.
- Built-in rugged tread blocks with their Staggered Step design, a feature which provides rigidity in the contact patch to enhance stability and handling.
- Wrap-around lugs on the edge of the tyre to help protect it from sharp rocks and provide additional off-road traction.
- New compounds which deliver the perfect balance between road and off-road performance, and deliver superb durability.
- Deep grooves which excel in wet weather conditions and offer additional biting edges for off-road performance.
There’s no word on the range of sizes yet, but expect it to cover the most popular middle and heavyweight adventure machines.
