Another week passes, and another major motocross title looks to be heading the way of a UK rider on Bridgestone motocross tyres!
With domestic racing all but over for this season, the JSR Racing squad traveled to The Netherlands for the penultimate round of the IMBA series at the scenic Meijel motocross circuit.
James Dodd headed into the event with the coveted yellow IMBA leader’s jersey, but it was apparent early on that the sand at Meijel was nothing like any circuit that he and his teammates Andy Smart and Ashley Thomas had raced at before.
The local riders took full advantage of the conditions to take the overall victory and podium spots at the weekend, but 7th place overall for Dodd was enough to leave him with a big 117-point lead with one final round of racing to go.
Andy Smart also fought hard to move up from third to second in the overall points table, while Ashley Thomas jumped up to fourth. At the final round of the season, team owner Jamie Smith will be hoping that the guys can secure all of the top three positions in the championship.
