It’s been a busy bank holiday weekend for motocross riders using Bridgestone tyres, with several race meetings taking place across the UK including the prestigious British Championship at Blaxhall.
Rising stars Josh Gilbert and Callum Green were both in action at the sandy Suffolk circuit for Honda Adventure Centre, with both riders impressing as they battled for superiority in their respective classes.
Gilbert was joint overall winner in the MX2 class using a combination of Battlecross X10 and X20 tyres, while Callum Green topped the MXY2 class with a dominant performance against tough opposition.
It was also a hectic weekend for JSR Honda Racing, with Jack Timms putting in a stellar performance for the team by taking a trio of wins for the team. Jansen Day also took to the top step for JSR, with Luke Newman and joint team owner Simon Lane also in action.
Flying the flag for Suzuki in the first round of the Banbury Championship, Vets front runner Darren King was absolutely flying on the RMZ-450 as his Battlecross X30 tyres helped him to two wins and a second place, to give him the overall victory ahead of reigning champion Billy Hazell.
There were also podiums elsewhere for James Hanscombe in the Acerbis Nationals, and Josh Waterman with AMCA.
This coming weekend, it’s the second round of the Bridgestone MX Masters championship at Wroxton, with some serious prize money up for grabs as riders also go head-to-head for the Bridgestone Adult Annual Cup. With the winner taking home a cool £400, expect it to be hotly contested!
