Bridgestone Launch Two New Tyres In Morocco

Bridgestone Battlax T31 review

Last week we were lucky enough to spend a few days in Morocco courtesy of Bridgestone, who invited a number of their top UK customers to try out the brand new Battlax T31 sport touring tyre and Battlax A41 Adventure.

For the trip, we sent along Shaun from our sales team, who has already owned several adventure bikes, plus Operation Manager Owen, who has a Yamaha Thundercat.

Flying into Morocco via Madrid, the group arrived at the superb La Berbere Palace in Ouarzazate, to the South-East of Marrakesh.

Ouarzazate is known as The Gateway to the Sahara, and sits close to the High Atlas Mountains which boast some fantastic twisties, perfect for testing out the handling of Bridgestone’s two new tyres.

The first day was spent riding on the new Battlax A41, which instantly feels like an improvement over the already solid A40.

Shaun took the chance to try them out on the latest Super Tenere, before switching to Triumph’s 1200 Explorer and BMW’s market leading R1200GS and commented:

“They coped with everything impeccably be it through fast flowing bends and tight single track mountain passes, along with the small section of off-road we used them on – I will be fitting a pair to my Super Tenere as soon as I get home!”

On the Friday, it was the turn of the new Battlax T31 to be put to the sword, with some great bikes on offer including BMW’s S1000XR, Ducati’s Multistrada and the middleweight Kawasaki Versys 650.

The Battlax T31‘s biggest boast is the increase in wet grip levels over it’s T30 EVO predecessor, but sadly the sun stayed firmly rooted in the sky all day so we didn’t get a chance to test that in Morocco.

Surfaces on the main roads in Morocco are fantastic, and seemed to be in much better condition than those in the UK. Despite the heat, the tyres remained rock solid all day long, and still looked brand new even after some hard miles.

“The T31s are by far the most confidence inspiring tyres I have ever ridden on which was perfect for the tight technical roads through the mountains of Morocco! It’s been a fantastic couple of days so a big thank you to Bridgestone” commented Shaun before heading home.

Both tyres are already available in the UK, and as the main importer for Bridgestone, members of the motorcycle trade will find them all at Cambrian at the best possible prices.
