The final addition to the Battlecross line-up, Bridgestone launched their highly acclaimed X10 early last year for use in both muddy and sandy conditions.
Recently ‘Dangerous’ Brod Wilson of Fast Bikes took on the Skegness Beach Race, fitting a pair of Battlecross X10 tyres to his KTM 250 EXC-F.
In their February 2018 issue, Brod gave his opinion on Bridgestone’s latest motocross tyre:
“I wouldn’t even think about starting a beach race without sand tyres, because that would just be stupid.
I decided to kit the KTM with a pair of the Bridgestone X10s, and they were awesome.
The front tyres have pointy, pyramid shaped nobbles that really dig into the sand so no matter how hard you push they just seem to offer high levels of grip and form a burm as they go.
By far the most impressive hoop is the rear though. The nobbles form a sort of U-shaped paddle across the tyre and when you give it the berries, it might spin once or twice but then it hooks up, and you’re off, wheelying across the beach while your mates are digging holes with their standard MX hoops.
I did the three hour race on these and they still look like brand new, and probably will for a long time yet to come because of the pace Bruce rides at.
Don’t ride on sand without these. Trust me.”
