Using Monteblanco as a launch venue was certainly bold move by Bridgestone.
It’s a popular choice with road race teams due to the abrasive nature of the track surface, and combined with the southern Spanish sunshine, it has the potential to chew up soft, sticky race tyres with relative ease.
However, it was also an opportunity to showcase the consistent levels of high-performance offered by their new tyre – and judging by many of the recent post-launch reviews, it was a gamble well taken.
Among the journalists in attendance were the 44Teeth duo Alastair Fagan and Baron von Grumble, who recently released a pretty in-depth video review with footage from the launch.
