It’s been a great weekend for Team Michelin and Husqvarna rider Eddie Wade, who recorded a stunning double victory in Estonia to seal the 85cc FIM Junior World Championship motocross title.
The former 65cc British Champion has been raising eyebrows across the globe this season as he competes with the Team GB Juniors.
Riding on Michelin motocross tyres, Eddie has consistently been at the sharp end of proceedings at various races this season and this weekend proved to be no exception.
His double win at Estonia’s Lange Motokeskus allowed him to wrap up the title ahead of the finale at Matterley Basin later this year, although no doubt he’ll still be looking to stamp his authority on the race when it heads to Britain in the Autumn.
The opening race at Lange Motokeskus saw the Brit take a great holeshot, winning by a clear margin from Sweden’s Noel Nilsson. Race twi saw Denmark’s Magnus Smith grab the holeshot, but Wade soon worked his way past the Dane to record his second victory of the weekend.
At the press conference he commented:
“It feels really special to win for Great Britain, I can’t express how much it means to me.”
