Head of BMW Motorrad, DR Markus Schramm, has revealed the third motorcycle in the BMW M family – the BMW M 1000 XR, and it’s forged wheels will come equipped with ContiRaceAttack 2 Street tyres as standard.
Combining the long-distance capabilities from the S 1000 XR and the thrilling high-end performance of the M 1000 R and M 1000 RR models, the all-new BMW M 1000 XR is a powerful and agile sports bike designed to meet the highest demands, from dynamic road riding to exhilarating track experiences.
The M XR has everything you need for speed. The beating heart is its extremely powerful and high-revving ShiftCam engine putting out an impressive 201bhp, significantly more powerful than the four-cylinder version found on the S 1000 XR. Additionally, M winglets tame the brute power of the M XR. They generate downforces at high speeds and thus provide greater driving stability as well as a smoother ride, while also helping to keep that front wheel planted under hard acceleration.
- Updated Tread Design – new tread design minimises negative tread area and no shoulder tread grooves to provide the ultimate grip at all lean angles.
- Black Chilli Compound – for rapid tyre warm-up maximises performance on road or track.
