Less than a week on from his dominant win at Brno, Marc Marquez will be looking to further extend his slender championship lead at the MotoGP paddock lands in Austria.
Last season the inaugural race at The Red Bull Ring gave Andrea Iannone his first premier class win, and seems well suited to the characteristics of the Ducati which bodes well for title contender Andrea Dovizioso.
Mika Kallio has been handed a wild card ride for KTM Factory Racing at their home round, with Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith hoping for a strong showing in Austria.
Just like Brno, the Red Bull Ring features a greater number of right-hand turns so Michelin’s allocation of soft, medium and hard compound Power Slick tyres will once again be of asymmetric design with a harder rubber compound on the right shoulder.
As was also the case at Brno, the medium Power Rain rear also uses a harder compound on the right shoulder of the tyre, as will the soft compound tyre on this occasion.
Free practice kicks off at 9:55am on Friday, and it promises to be another exciting race!
