Michelin Power One product launch
In March, at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, Michelin launched its new Power One range of treaded and slick/wet tyres to the world's press.
There are three groups of tyres that make up the range, and these are as follows:
Road/Trackday - The Power One treaded tyres use Michelin's 2CT (2 Compound Technology) and are suitable for fast road and trackday use. They are designed to operate at the motorcycle manufacturers' recommended pressures for the road and can be run at lower pressures on the track.
Treaded Competition - The Power One V, A, B and C compound tyres are road legal and designed for production racing and fast trackday use. These 2CT tyres are not designed to operate at normal road pressures, due to their competition casing design, and will only perform at their optimum when run at low track pressures.
16.5" Slicks/Wets - These tyres are pure race tyres and include the first commercially available 3CT (3 Compound Technology) asymmetric slick tyres. These feature three different compounds across the tread and can be fitted either way round to suit different track layouts. The wet tyres are single compound.
