Gary Pugh Tribute Page

We're sure that as customers and friends of Cambrian Tyres, it doesn't take you long to get to know all of us, as the whole CT operation really comes down to the professional effort of a very small group of dedicated, valued people. Its always jarring to lose a member of the team when they leave to explore new challenges but we cope and there is always a connection that remains.

Sadly, we are being tested at the moment and it's with a very heavy collective heart that we have to pass on the news that Gary Pugh tracically passed away on Sunday 6th April 2008.

We appreciate that this will be shattering news to anyone who knew or dealt with Gary. He has been central to the team work, organisation and success of CT over the last 12 years. He played a big part in the initiation of this very website, and has been a huge inspiration, joyful tonic and trusted friend to those who worked with him here at Cambrian Tyres.

Gary will be an immeasurable loss to us all, but his memory, like his smile will endure.

Donations can be made in lieu to LATCH (www.latchwales.org) or Bronglais Hospital Intensive Care Unit, and forwarded to Neville Evans at Cambrian Tyres Ltd, North Parade, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion. SY23 2JR

Please feel free to leave your own personal message of condolences below.

I was devastated to hear about the loss of Gary. In my time working for Pirelli it was a real pleasure to work with Gary, who typified the Cambrian spirit. A friend more than a customer Gary was always a welcome face to see after a long drive over the the west coast. My deepest condolences to Gary's family and the Cambrian Team, I will always hold fond memories of a great guy.

Gaz, I'm so saddened by the loss mate. I've got to say that you were one of the nicest guys I've met and I'm still struggling to believe you've gone. Still seems like its not real. It was a pleasure to know you and I'm so glad I had the chance to spend such great times on the fly-aways we had this year especially being on the beach in Qatar playing volleyball with you just a month ago. So glad we got you on the back of a bike too!! Why does it always happen to the nice guys. Gutted. Rest easy man Ads

I had the privilege of working with gary and the boys from cambrian for four and a half years, in that time all of us seemed to gel,we all have a really strong bond with each other, now i might not see the boys for a month or two but we just pick up where we left off, thats what true freinds do,Sadly i cant do that again with Gaz,I have lots of memories of gaz but one that sticks out the most is when we were away doing a show, in the hotel he could not decide what pudding to have so he stuck his fingers in all three, little things like that only gaz could get away with! will miss you mate.

I knew very little of Gary but he was very friendly and knowledgable about ATFC. He had a very welcoming persona and struck me as a truly decent fellow. My heart goes out to his family and close friends.

Gary and I were school friends. I'll always remember his cheeky smile, dry wit and great sense of humour. You could always rely on Gary to lighten any situation. I've never since met a more laid back, genuinely good-hearted guy. I haven't really seen Gary since we were teenagers but from reading all the tributes to him,he hadn't changed one bit!! Although we didn't keep in touch, the shock and feeling of sadness is immense. Gary you had and always will have a huge place in my heart. My sincerest sympathy to Verity, their children and the rest of Gary's family.

I was shattered to hear the news about Gary. In the job I do I have to deal with sadness, loss and grief regularly, but to lose someone you have known for over 20yrs is difficult to say the least. My thoughts go out to his family and all his close colleagues at CT at this difficult time. Words will not be enough to describe the loss they must be feeling. "The light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long". Only the good die young Gary, rest in peace my friend.

What a genuine person, always made us laugh. Nothing seemed to phase him everything was taken in his stride. Gary will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know him and meet him. Well,it must be said! I had a text message from you 'hi its Gary here, would you tell Russell....'. I questioned myself 'who is Gary?'....I didnt know anyone called Gary! Was even abit worried at one point. Anyway, it turned out to be you 'Pugh',you had done what you always do...a favour for a mate! You were 'Pugh' and will always be 'Pugh' in our eyes! Once I found out your real name was 'Gary', it just didnt seem right somehow...you were 'Pugh'...simple as!!! Well what can I say...that you were a shining example to many people...your work colleagues, your football teams and most of all Murray and Imogen. You had time for anyone, anywhere, anytime, anyplace! You WILL be missed, but most certainly you will NOT be forgotten. God rest your soul and let your memory shine on but most importantly, rest in peace mate. Michelle and Russell xxx
