Dunlop dominates Ulster GP grids
Dunlop is revelling in their success at the Ulster GP this week after achieving 8 out of 10 race wins and 24 out of a possible 30 podium places.
A dry and sunny week at the Dundrod Circuit provided Dunlop riders with success after success at the popular road race. The Birmingham based tyre manufacturer dominated the grids with 52% of the riders across all races riding on Dunlop.
Dunlop riders broke three new lap records in Supersport, Superstock and the new Twin Class as well as having full podiums in both the 125CC and 250CC classes.
Ian Hutchinson, Keith Amor, Michael Dunlop, William Dunlop and Ryan Farquhar were amongst the top Dunlop riders using the D211GP race tyres. The D211GP’s assisted these riders to finish up to 20 seconds ahead of the competitor tyres in these races.
The technology used within the D211GP race tyre is translated into Dunlop’s road going tyre range. The D211GP’s Ntec Technology is integrated into the road going Dunlop GP Racer D211 and Sportmax SportSmart providing riders across the country with the same performance as riders on track.
John Higgins, Motorcycle Service Engineer for Dunlop said: "Dunlop supplied over 400 tyres to 52% of the competitors during the Dundrod Ulster GP. We have achieved above average results once again in the road racing category. This is down to outstanding riders choosing Dunlop product and thanks to our teams in the factory producing product that can withstand the strain of over 133mph laps and still provide the riders with outstanding performance."
"I would like to thank all of Dunlop Motorsport for working together to provide our teams with the best product possible, helping us to dominate the grids and the podiums at the Ulster GP" concluded John.
