Keith Amors retirement is a sad loss to motorsport.

Today Keith Amor announced his retirement from TT racing, due to injuries sustained in two crashes at last years Tourist Trophy, the Scottish rider will not be taking part in the TT again.

Keith is a familiar figure in the paddocks and is always very happy to meet up and chat with fans.

We’ve been lucky at CT in that we have had a bit of contact with the man, mostly at the launch of the Dunlop Sportsmart tyre at Silverstone in 2010 where CT’s very own Jen and Rich got to ride on track with Keith over the course of the two day launch. If you ask them, they will probably only be able to describe the feeling of seeing him blast passed them repeatedly over the course of the sessions. He really is an amazing rider.

Seeing him come round the corner on to the old start / finish straight at Silverstone with the belly pan of the sped triple he was thrashing grinding out on the floor was something else.

No doubt Keith’s vast experience will go to good use in the sport, but he was an exciting rider to watch and will be greatly missed from the starting grid this year.

Take care Keith from everyone at Cambrian Tyres.
